Sheffield’s Handsworth Historical Society holds monthly meetings at the Old Rectory and parish centre located at the back of St Mary’s Church. The chairman is Sandra Gillott who has also written many books about the area.

The Society also runs a small museum which is open to the public once a month in the afternoon current dates are shown in the meetings section.The museum has a huge amount of information (maps, publications and photos) about old Handsworth both before it became part of Sheffield in the 1920s and since showing the great changes that have been seen in the area. It also includes displays of artefacts from the industrial and farming past as well as domestic and household objects which will be familiar to many.
